1967 was the premiering year for The Carol Burnett Show and it ran for eleven years winning 22 Emmys. It featured Mrs. Wiggins, a tight-skirted secretary who was the sun tanned Eunice of ' Mama's Family ' and later started her own sitcom also she acted bad in ' As the Stomach Turns' , a soap opera. Burnett also starred in classic memorable movies as ' Gone With the Wind' as Scarlett O'Hara. She wore a dress which was made from the drapes, curtain rod and passionately designed by Bob Mackie. Burnett would often scream out a Tarzan yell and also took questions from the audience. She came up with funny and feel good answers.
She had a perfect working relationship with her co-workers like Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, and Lyle Waggoner and there were no cast changes. Tim Conway took over for the eighth and subsequent seasons when Waggoner left. It was always on the funny side and never predjuice or contained improper content. It was the age of only three channels and everyone tuned in to see the hilarious clever skits of Burnett every week. Feature flims like ' Noises Off' with Michael Caine and Robert Altman's A Wedding, and The Four Seasons with Alan Alda were has her occasional appearences. Her best TV films include some shows like Vietnam survivors' drama Friendly Fire, and Eunice which is the "pilot for Mama's Family". There were three other separate TV adaptations of her Broadway which hit Once Upon the Mattress in 1964, 1972, and 2005.
Fresno, was a six-hour mini-seriesin which she starred in 1986, a light parody of Dallas and Dynasty, along with Burnett as Fresno's hard-drinking raisin matriarch Charlotte Kensington. Along With Charles Grodin, Teri Garr, Dabney Coleman, and Gregory Harrison, there was hilarious till the end, but it has never been released on video in America.
