Carol Burnett was one of the most popular comedienne and actress on television during 1960s and 1970s. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 26, 1933. She made her way to New York City, after studying at University of California in Los Angeles. Carol Burnett made her first debut for short time in children television show in early 1950s. She became regular and also featured on occasional CBS-TV specials on Garry Moore show in 1959 for many years.
Carol Burnett was a popular and well admired performer; in 1967 she got her own comedy-variety show named as "The Carol Burnett Show". She had various attributes in her show like, questioning and answering, gathering with viewers and than the stupidity arises. Carol Burnett also broadcasted the broad comedy skits and sketches using her communicative face to great hilarious ends.
The show ended in 1978 after broadcasting eleven seasons. Afterward Carol Burnett revisit to television with comedy series Carol &Company and The Carol Burnett Show in 1990-91, she did very hard work in her life. Lately in 2006 Carol Burnett emerged as a guest on hit television drama named as Desperate Housewives.
On going with her television performance and programs she also worked in some films and did great job in those movies. The movies in which she gave her performance was Pete 'n' Tillie; released in 1972, The Front Page; released in 1974, Noises Off; released in 1992 and Annie; released in 1982. Her performance in these movies was god and everyone appreciated her acting. She also worked on stage dramas.
The name of the plays done by her was musical "Once Upon a Mattress" broadcasted on 1959 and she made her first appearance in the stage work shows. With passage of years she also worked in many Broadway shows too. The name of that Broadway shows are, Moon over Buffalo (1995-1996) and after that was Putting It Together broadcasted in between (1990-2000). She also wrote her autobiography titled as One More Time. Her life story gave a good material for a play named as Holly Wood Arms. That play was aired from October 2002 to January 2003. Burnett again wrote the storyline with the help of her daughter Carrie Hamilton.
Carol Burnett Married twice and sadly both of her marriages ended in divorce. Her daughter from the second husband died in 2002. Coral Burnett worked and figuring out to open a theatre for the memorial of her daughter named as Carrie Hamilton Theatre in Pasadena Playhouse.
