A great superstar and an iconic person, Carol Burnett has passion for comedy. A gifted comedian Carol did worked in many television serials, theatre shows and films, however her humorous jokes that I like most are from varieties shows. In some of her variety shows Carol Burnett developed some humorous characters and everyone would like to see them again and again.
She was born on 26th April 1933 to Joseph Thomas Burnett and Ina Louise in San Antonio, Texas. Both of her parents were alcoholic and most of the time unemployed and her father Joseph Burnett left her in an early age of eight. She was raised in a small rented house by her maternal grandmother Mabel Eudora where she learned and developed various skills of comedy, art, music, writing and dancing. She lost her father and mother in the year 1954 and 1957 respectively and from a very difficult childhood, Carol Burnett rose to a great superstar.
Carol Burnett while studying theater art and English at University of California developed the comical skills. She has participated in many theatre shows and in-house productions of the University and with the continuous support of her maternal grandmother she developed the skills of music and dance as well. She later moved to New York with her boy friend whom she later married in search of job. She initially struggled for a couple of years, joined Broadway theatre group and performed in many stage shows. Her acting and comic skills were further developed during these days and she got her first television serial The Winchell-Mahoney show, a children's serial.
Carol Burnett's humor was seen in the varieties show which she gat after appearing in a couple of television serial during 1955-1959. She got a first variety show, the Garry Moore show which was aired during 1959 to 1962 and during the telecast of the show; Carol Burnett got a 10 year exclusive contract with CBS and later hosted the most popular variety show of American history, The Carol Burnett show. The humorous skills of Carol Burnett were fully developed by the time she hosted the carol Burnett show and that's why the 11 year long television serial is the first choice of millions of people not only in US but other parts of the globe as well.
